A person, responsible for the biggest success of Slovak national team comes to Slovan
A few days before the start of the new season, Slovan Bratislava acquired to its team another distinct personality – a goalkeeper Jan Mucha.
The management of ŠK Slovan Bratislava meets the declared goals for the summer transfer window, when he announced the ambition to get a player to each formation. One of the best goalkeepers in the era of independence of Slovakia, Ján Mucha comes to Slovan. A player of a national team, Mucha agreed on four-year contract. Experienced player and 32-year-old goalkeeper, took part on the first practice with his new teammates, last Monday in Bratislava.
"This transfer is one of the most important in Slovakia in recent years. I am pleased that we have successfully implemented it. It was not easy, due to a big effort from the economically stronger countries such as Belgium, Turkey, Poland and Russia to acquire Jan. His involvement was one of our priorities in the summer transfer window. It is without doubt the best goalkeeper, what Slovakia has have in recent years. It will definitely be one of the leaders of our team on and off the pitch. For Slovak football it only can be very useful when the footballers with experience from abroad return to our league like Robo Vittek and Jano Mucha, has done. They should be the role models for our young players and I believe that the attraction for fans, „said vice president of Slovan Bratislava Ivan Kmotrík.
He played for Bela pod Cirochou, Snina, Inter Bratislava, Žilina and Humenné. He received the European football experience in Legia Warsaw. He won the league with the most famous Polish club, cup and Super Cup. Many clubs from the top of the European competitions were interested in this Slovak goalkeeper at that time, and he chose Everton. After three seasons in England, he moved to Russia, concretely to Krídel Sovietov Samara. Jan spent part of the last year on loan at Arsenal Tula.
"We were in touch with Slovan roughly for two months. ŠK Slovan is creating a strong team and I want to help the club to meet the ambitious targets for domestic and European scene. I am looking forward to this challenge and after exactly ten years I am coming back to my homeland country, even though I was in Slovakia during the foreign engagement quite often for the national teams duties or for a holiday. The new era has started for me and I believe that I will succeed".
