Ivan Vukomanovič is a new head coach of Slovan Bratislava
Ivan Vukomanovič signed contract until the end of this season.
Slovan Bratislava has agreed the cooperation with 39-years old Serbian head coach Ivan Vukomanovič. His assistant coach is going to be Vladimir Radenkovič, who has worked with Serbian U21 national team.
Ivan Vukomanovič has signed contract until the end of this season with possibility of prolongation. He is a young, progressive coach. His career as a coach started in 2013, when he was assistant coach in Standard Liége. This season was a success and Liége finished at second place of Belgian league. Since October 2014 to February 2015, Vukomanovič became head coach of Liége and coached eighteen games. Afterwards, he worked in Belgian football association. During the spring of 2016, there was an interest from Nottingham Forrest, however, without deal.
As a football player, Vukomanovič played mostly in foreign countries. He won French title with Bordeaux in 1999, then he played in Koln, Red Star Beograd, Dinamo Moscow and Belgian clubs Lokeren and Royal Antwerp. He was a midfielder.
Assistant coach Vladimir Radenkovič has worked in Hungarian clubs Diósgyör during 2013 – 2015. During this qualification cycle, he was an assistant coach in Serbian national football team U21.
“We wanted to follow modern and progressive way in selection of new coach. We attended several meetings with coach and he made a really good first impression. He presented his concept about work with a team and suggested solution, how to improve all players in performance and tactical side of football. He was working in Belgium for a long time and we know, that football in that country is in huge progress. Ivan is co-author of methodology, which are used by Belgian teams. We expect new impulse and improvement of team performance and individual activities from players. I hope, that new coach will fulfill expectation and cooperation will be successful,” said vice-president of club Ivan Kmotrík jr.
