Slovan has won national cup!
ŠK Slovan won over Skalica 3:0 in final of Slovnaft Cup (Slovak national cup) and earn its fourteenth home cup trophy!
Slovan travelled to Poprad, which was a host city for 48th final of Slovak national cup. Our opponent was Skalica, the team from second division.
First chance had Skalica, Mészáros was free close to the target, but Greif made a huge save and blocked the ball. In 20th minute, Rundič made beautiful “scissors” just after the corner and scored the first goal of the game – 0:1. Sky-blues came to the good mood and had also several more chances.
Just after the start of second half, Čavrič hit the crossbar and afterwards, Čikoš-Pavličko made a huge save against his breakaway. However, in 62nd minute, Oršula found Čavrič in penalty area, and our Serbian forward made a huge shot, which finished in the net – 0:2. In 76th minute, Priskin came alone against Čikoš-Pavličko, who fouled him in penalty area. Soumah scored from the penalty – 0:3.
Slovan has won 14th trophy in Slovak national cup and it´s the most successful Slovak club also in this category. In total, it´s 19th trophy in home cup for Slovan, if we counted 5 Czechoslovakian Cups.
