ŠK Slovan Bratislava drew with FK Jelgava 0:0.
Slovan faced the Latvian opponent FK Jelgava in first match of second qualifying round of Europa league. Our team had higher ball possession and more chances, however, it didn´t score. Chances for passing to third qualifying round are now equal for both teams.
Latvian team started with tough defense and our players weren´t able to pass through it. The first chance came on the other side, when Turkovs missed the target from the good position in front of Mucha. Slovan answered with nice combination and was close to get the lead. Schet had a space to score on the right side of penalty area, instead of shot, he passed to Zreľák, who´s attempt was blocked to the corner. The first period didn´t offer many chances and finished without goals.
The second period was in sense of higher activity from home team. Joeri de Kamps sent two nice shots, however, there were blocked by defenders. Slovan continued in activity, Ligeon passed the ball to Savičevič and his header missed the target. Our team could go to lead in 70th minute, when Diallo blocked Schet´s center close to his own target. Slovan had two more great possibilities to score – Zreľák missed the target and Soumah´s shot was saved by Ikstens. Slovan drew 0:0 and chances to pass to third qualifying round are open to both teams.
