Vladimír Weiss is new head coach of ŠK Slovan Bratislava

Vladimír Weiss took charge of first team of ŠK Slovan Bratislava.

One of the most successful coaches in history of Slovak football became the new head coach of ŠK Slovan Bratislava. Vladimír Weiss will lead Slovan in next match in Zlaté Moravce.

“Our negotiations came to a successful conclusion. I consider Vladimír Weiss as the best Slovak coach. He was our clear number one choice and I am very happy, that he is coming back to Slovan. Vladimír Weiss will choose his own staff. I am sure that our cooperation will be successful,” said Ivan Kmotrík jr, general director of ŠK Slovan Bratislava.

Vladimír Weiss was the first and only Slovak coach, who qualified national team to World Cup. Slovakia had successful debut in World Cup 2010, beat Italy and played against Netherlands in play-offs (1:2). Vladimír Weiss as a coach won two titles with Petržalka and qualified Petržalka to group stage of Champions League (2005/06). Petržalka took 6 points in competition with Inter Milan, Rangers and Porto.

He was already once head coach of ŠK Slovan Bratislava (2011-12) and beat AS Roma in play-off of Europa league. Slovan played in group stage against PSG, Athletic Bilbao and Salzburg.
